Every year, the student government holds elections for the three positions. We wanted to help get the word out by creating posters that equally showed all the candidates, so students could make a more informed decision.
One of the hardest parts was getting the candidates to come in and get their picture taken and to give me their text. But I was able to work on the poster design without actualy knowing how many candidates I would have to end up putting on it.
So I began the three posters (17"x22") by shaping the theme. I created the folder images, found the 'label' looking font and worked on the sizing of all the information. As information came in I was able to decide on font size and picture size.
To add some more interest to the posters, I set up a photoshoot with small portable electronic devices that people had around the office. So I had photos of cell phones, thumb drives, portable hard drives, pen tablets, etc. that I encorperated into the background.
One of the hardest hurdles of this project was the size of files I ended up working with. With the amount of photographic data these had, each poster reached over a gigabyte in filesize.
